My Top 10 keyboard shortcuts in Adobe Photoshop CC

Shortcuts make Photoshop much quicker to use.

I do most of my digital image processing in Adobe Lightroom, but also do further work in Photoshop. I find Photoshop more time consuming and difficult to use than Lightroom.

I thought it would be helpful therefore to share with everyone my most used keyboard shortcuts in Photoshop.

So here are the 10 Photoshop keyboard shortcuts that I use

Control E

Ok this is a  Lightroom shortcut that gets you quickly into Photoshop from Lightroom. If you know  about this shortcut you probably know more than me so you can move on to something else.

So in actual Adobe Photoshop CC, having used shortcut number 1, we have

  • J - Spot healing brush
  • S - Clone Stamp
  • B - Brush
  • Ctrl + zoom in
  • Ctrl - zoom out
  • Ctrl 0 - return to the full image
  • Ctrl Z - undo
  • Shift Ctrl Z - step back
  • Ctrl D - Deselect
  • { Decrease brush size
  • } Increase brush size

OK that is 11 short-cuts. Well I said 10 so consider the 11th one a bonus.

This is just the first 10 (ok ok 11) shortcuts that I thought of this morning when editing today's portfolio image.

I probably use all of these keyboard shortcuts on every image I edit in Adobe Photoshop. They are real time-savers and well worth knowing.

Footnote – these are keyboard shortcuts in Photoshop for Windows users.

My Top 10 Keyboard shortcuts in Adobe Photoshop CC is the first in a series of weekly posts where I will write tips about Lightroom and Photoshop. I am also writing a series of articles about Lightroom, which will be appearing soon on my blog.
