Fish Eye Photography- a different view of the jetty in Hamworthy, Poole, Dorset

Fisheye Dorset Photography, Hamworthy, Poole, Dorset

Fisheye photography. It's one of those things. Nice to see but it can easily get boring.

So every now and then it is nice to sneak in a bit of fisheye photography.

This picture of the jetty in Hamworthy, Poole, was taken on my Canon 6D with Canon 8-15 mm fisheye zoom lens. I used the 8mm end of the scale to get this circular image which works for me as the jetty is the big foreground feature taking you into the picture, with that dramatic sky in the background.

I processed this image in Lightroom to give a contrasty punchy feel to the image.

One of the often quoted rules of photography is to not shoot into the sun, well I waited for the cloud to cover a bit of it while keeping the brightness of the sun.

This picture of Poole was taken using ISO 100. Which makes sense.

Aperture used was F4! I have no idea why. Luckily with an 8mm fisheye zoom lens onanfull frame Canon DSLR depth of field was not an issue.

The shutter speed was 1/4000th of a second!

Not exactly my standard setup but all that matters really is the end result.

Is the picture interesting?

Yes - I think so!!
