Adobe Photoshop CC and Adobe Lightroom CC - My life in the Creative Cloud

Adobe Photoshop CC and Adobe Lightroom CC – My life in the creative cloud.

I am going to write in this post about Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom – two mighty pieces of software produced by Adobe.

I used to have, back in the day, Photoshop Elements, which I dabbled with. Then, in 2007 Adobe released Lightroom. I was in there with version 1.0, and have been there ever since. The release of Lightroom coincided with my move into digital photography properly, leaving behind my film camera and all that goes with it.

So I was in at the very beginning of Lightroom, and dread to think how long I have spent in this software.

I started using Photoshop with Photoshop 9. I couldn’t afford the current version at the time, Photoshop 10 (or CS3), so had to buy a second hand version from EBay. And from the beginning I struggled with is. I remember going to what is now called the Photography Show, and also the Society of Wedding and Photographers annual convention, and sitting there listening to the instructors give classes on Photoshop and Lightroom.

And be amazed, in awe, and wishing I could do what they were doing (now I can by the way).

Fast forward to now, and I use the Adobe Creative Cloud Photographers Package.

This gives me the latest versions of Lightroom and Photoshop constantly updated with software updates, bug fixes and every new feature they release.

I also use Lightroom Mobile, where I sync collections in Lightroom which I can view remotely on other devices. My mobile portfolio always with me on my phone. Amazing really.

This is why you can be assured that when I work for you I am using the latest image processing software.

So what do I use Lightroom and Photoshop for?

I will write a separate post about each, as they are such a significant part of my photography workflow. This really is a big area of modern professional photography. And one where you can lose lots and lots of time.

And in the meantime I am looking forward to the Photography Show at the NEC. I have registered, and booked in for some good stuff, and am looking forward to going to a few Adobe Lightroom presentations, and feeling like I belong. (I will avoid he Photoshop classes though)!!!
