My photography gear tip for the week - the Manfrotto Pixi

Today I have a top photographic gear tip.

The Manfrotto Pixi

Check it out at

Why do I like it? Because I can take it anywhere, and have used it in loads of situations. Sure it is not as good as my regular, big, heavy tripods. But I have it with me always, in my back pack camera bag (half camera bag half regular back pack - one for another post).

And as they saying goes - the best camera you have is the one you have with you.

Same can be said about tripods.

It is cheap too - £25 maximum in the UK. And it takes my Canon DSLR and lenses. Sometimes I have to be careful, and it has toppled over on occasion, but it is really useful to have.

I took this shot using it.

And they come in different colours! Obviously I have the black one.

So if you want a little something extra to give your photography a boost then go an get yourself one - you won't regret it.

Final point - I take better images when I use my tripod. All my commercial photography work is done using a tripod. The mere process of setting up the tripod makes you stop and think about what you are taking, and what your composition is.

Trust me - it is true.
